Castle Irwell, Salford

Nestled upon the River Irwell, on the site of the historic Manchester Racecourse is Salboy’s enchanting new housing development, Castle Irwell. The development features 267 homesites across a sprawling new family friendly community. The development gets its name from Castle Irwell, that sat on the site from 1826 before being demolished in 1902 to make way for the Manchester Racecourse.

Castle Irwell Homes

There are nine home designs at Salboy’s Castle Irwell. These are spread across 267 homes and and feature two to four bedrooms. There are 2 two bedroom designs, 5 three bedroom designs and 2 four bedroom designs. Each of Castle Irwell’s six stages feature gated parking for added security. All releases feature two and three bed options, with four bed options being available in releases 1, 2, 3 and 5.

There are limited homes that abut the main road. These are mostly located in releases 1 and 6.

There is a grand central park in the development. Releases 1, 2 and 5 are the best positioned for it as they don’t need to cross any roads to get access. This is great for families. Additionally, there is a proposed school within the development – this is adjacent to the park and release 2.

Salboy has also taken care to hold onto the heritage at Castle Irwell. It has retained the old turnstile building – currently used as the sales centre for the development.

Only 15 minutes drive / cycle from Castle Irwell and you can be in downtown Manchester. Media City can also be reached in around 15 minutes.

Salford Crescent Train station is 0.7 miles away and provides links to regional towns. There’s also four bus routes within walking distance of the estate. Additionally, the A6 and M602 motorways are just minutes away.

There are a number of schools in the vicinity, including The University of Salford. There’s also the a proposed school within the development.
